World map

Believe it or not, I am very bad in geography. When I said bad, its very very very bad beyond explanation.

Ohh! I thought Dubai is in India?

I think you meant Bombay or Mumbai.

And where is New Zealand? I thought it should be near Switzerland or Sweden since their names almost rhyme with each other.”

Noooo, It’s down under! Oh my goodness, your school teacher should fail you in geography!”

Oh shooott!!!!" What can I say, I haven't been learning much about geography for 10 years now since PMR.

But I know where Madagascar is because of the movie.

It’s pretty much embarrassing, I know. But seriously, I have taken the subject for granted. So much for saying I love travelling huh? I don’t even know what country is on the left, or right of the world map.

So today, I learned about Ottoman Empire from an Iraqi friend who has been kind enough to share some historical and geographical information which I never took time to learn. We even googled the world map. Like a kid, I played a little searching game on the map.

Let’s find Brazil! Where is Netherland, Iceland, Argentina, Mexico, and Portugal??!!

It doesn’t take long to understand the whole map. All this while I only know from Australia till Thailand, and after that, my knowledge is almost zero. I should be ashamed of myself even though I know these places by names.

So guys, don’t tell me you know where Morocco is, or Sahara, or Ecuador. I believe some people from the west doesn’t even know the existence of Malaysia. So I intend to share my knowledge here.

To those who took geography for granted, it’s not too late. I have something for you here to start with. Have a look on the map and see how much you know about the world.

Obama's twin brother?

Obama left his twin brother in Indonesia?

I certainly hope not. :)

Ilham Anas a photographer from Indonesia strikes a strong resemblance to the newly-elected US president Barack Obama. Find the article here and here.

People often mistaken him for Obama and took pictures with him. He starred in a phillipino commercial, which makes his fame grows even more worldwide.

RUSTY - my new found love

we have a dog! we have a dog!! Everyone is very excited..

Everyone got up early today, and we went to Ikano for the Petster exhibition, only to find out that it was only for members! So we decided to go the The Curve to take our brunch but we ended up spending over an hour wandering around looking at the stuff they sell at the booth alongside The Walk. I bought a pink bag (more like a basket bag which im thinking of using it for lab purposes), a LipLicious tissue cover for my car (just for the fun of it), and a pair of Bikini (I have no idea what im gonna do with it). The guy i bought the bikini from wished me a happy holiday after paying, which was quite funny because who the hell's gonna buy a bikini without a solid reason to wear it? But what the hell, I spent around Rm70 for these 3 items, which was a good bargain for me.

Speaking of shopping, it reminds me of the 'brand' i was given to. Well, I didnt just get a 'clubbing face' from Bryan, but i got friends who said that i only shop at high end places which are not entirely true. I like to buy stuff when i am in a mood, but like i told everyone, I am very particular in spending my money. so if i am to buy something, it's gotta be something which i fell in love with at first sight, or something very useful, or something with a good bargain. So I am totally not a shopaholic material. I don't shop for brands (only when i seek for quality materials) I don't shop for glamorous sake and i don't shop as though my pocket is loaded. I shop when there is mood or when I need something, most of the time it was just on a spur of the moment, like what happened today.

ouh, did i tell you we just got a dog? yea, we just got a dog! At first, we were thinking of getting a pure breed of a Rotweiler (like Binky who just died last week...sob..sob..sob), or a German Shepard (something like Max and Roxy back home, but they're half mongrel). After looking at few options, we finally decided to take a 'Golden Retriever' puppy which is one of our most wanted choice. We were not allowed to play with the dog for at least few days for it to adjust to the new environment and there are few rules we need to follow before we actually bring him around. Keegan wanted to name him Harry/Hairy, Sister called him Golden, Jim wanted to call him Kiddie (lol, bad choice of names) and from the start i want to name it 'Rusty'... In the end, everybody agree with 'rusty'... so peeps, meet my new found love, RUSTY...

Rusty in his crate, I told him to pose and he followed what i say. He's just too easy to fell in love with.

This was actually taken few weeks back, we were in Jalan Gasing after breakfast in Lotus. I was wearing something decent for the Australian Guild ceremony. Jimmy as usual, like to spoil the picture.

The event i attended during Wesak day in PJ Hilton Hotel. I was astonished with some of the talents, especially Wong Keng Joon who played a funky tune with his guitar and his very romantic Italiano tune with a piano (with his own arrangement).

My dear friend, Nick. Who just got off the bus from Penang. Look how tired and hungry he is, he can even swallow the spoon if he want to.

Tasha, who introduced me to the world of Shisha(is that how they spell it?). It was my first time trying. Strawberry flavor i think. But i didnt like it, not sure why. maybe it wasnt my cup of tea.

I actually have few pics to share but it was a tiring day for me. I need to sleep it off for tomorrow. Goodnite.

kennel or no kennel..

Why I call it a Kennel (unless you have a better name)

Dogs are adorable… and we are adorable
Dogs are friendly, and we are friendly..
Dog bites, look at what happened to Lydia (she has too many strange bruises)
Dogs are noisy, we are noisy
Dogs likes to eat, Fellie and EmM likes to eat a lot..
Dogs eat anything, Lydia even ate fly eggs..

who said there's no comfort in a kennel..
Kennel got air-cond some more..

LOL, we’re not bitches in a bad way..
Because

and bitch means

bitches do write (look at their blogs, including mine)..LOL

The power of prayers

We focus too much on other stuff that we tend to forget the most important thing in our lives – PRAYERS.

I have been facing a lot of problems with work and my relationship with others for quite some time. It took a whole lot of energy in me that I feel like giving up and just call it quit.

About a week ago, a friend suggested me to pray for the problems I am facing. All this while I was not convinced enough about the power of prayers. After hearing the stories from him about the power of prayers, I just gave it a shot.

Like usual, my night prayers will be on the bed before I close my eyes to sleep. I just said it out as though I was talking to a friend about my problems. I was hoping for some miracles to happen between me and my senior whom I had problems with.

For few days, nothing happened that change the situation between us until about an hour ago, he called me to ask about my experimental results, and some other information. After explaining it to him, he ended the call by saying, “Okay, I just want to say, you gonna have problems in your thesis.” He said that nonchalantly before hanging up. Of course I couldn’t take it, so I told him off thru SMS, telling him not to insult me that way again. After sending the ultimatum, I was expecting him to bark even louder at me considering his understandable awful ego.

But then,

his reply was beyond every of my expectation. He told me not to take it as an offense, and maybe it was time for him to be less harsh.

Peeps, Daniel had passed down the power of prayers to me, I hope this time I will also be able to convince you that, prayers are powerful if you believe in it.

"'Have faith in God,' Jesus answered. 'I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, "Go, throw yourself into the sea," and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins'" (Mark 11:22-25).

"And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it" (John 14:13-14).
